Start-up support for local social commitment

Bohnenkamp Foundation promotes FSJ positions at institutions in the city and district of Osnabrück

Osnabrück, June 17, 2021

A voluntary social year, perhaps even abroad - helping people, broadening horizons, discovering the world, life and not least oneself. For many young people from the region, this dream has been shattered in times of the Corona pandemic. At the same time, the pandemic and its consequences increase the need for social engagement in our local society. Many institutions such as schools, daycare centers, old people's homes or associations are facing unimagined challenges and have to find a way out of the pandemic.

The Friedel & Gisela Bohnenkamp Foundation is convinced that young people from the region want to help. That's why it is funding ten FSJ positions in the city and district of Osnabrück with €2,000 each from August 1, 2021. "We want to be on hand quickly and without complications," says Michael Prior, spokesman for the Bohnenkamp Foundation's board of directors. "An FSJ is a wonderful opportunity to promote interpersonal togetherness again after such a long period of distance. And that's what the Bohnenkamp Foundation wants to support with this measure."

Interested institutions can contact the Friedel & Gisela Bohnenkamp Foundation (Klaus-Strick-Weg 28, 49082 Osnabrück or gewicke(at)bohnenkamp-stiftung.de) with an informal application that includes a brief outline of the need and the associated position.

The contact person is Uta Gewicke, a consultant at the Bohnenkamp Foundation. The deadline for entries is July 11, 2021.
