Unmasking content that promotes democracy

The demoKI project combines democracy education with a discussion of artificial intelligence - a topic that could hardly be more topical. The project is being implemented at the Friedensschule Osnabrück, which is shaping new educational paths together with numerous partners. The Bohnenkamp Foundation not only supported the project at an early stage, but also established the connection to the University of Osnabrück. Prof. Tobias Thelen is a strong scientific partner at the side of demoKI. The project is being scientifically monitored and evaluated. A bachelor's thesis in the field of cognitive science is currently being written that deals with demoKI. The concept is also inspiring: Osnabrück University has already taken up the idea of linking democracy and AI education in its own student project.

Successes and milestones

demoKI has received several awards and has been presented to a wide audience at various events - including the Osnabrück Education Congress, the MIK Museum Birthday and the jung.alt.digital event organized by Bitkom e. V. Here, school students were able to show senior citizens how AI works in a very practical way. Such encounters illustrate the special value of the project: passing on knowledge and connecting generations. New collaborations, including with Balu und Du and the Osnabrück City Library, are already in the pipeline. The next big appearance is also imminent: the presentation of demoKI at the Day of Lower Saxony.
